1. Purpose#
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) establishes appropriate and prohibited uses of the Children’s Interest Continuum™ Platform (“Platform”).
The purpose of this Policy is to protect:
- users;
- case information;
- evidence integrity;
- Platform security;
- confidentiality;
- availability and reliability.
This Policy applies to all Platform users, including:
- administrators;
- attorneys;
- clients;
- Pro Se Clients;
- collaborators;
- testers;
- other authorized users.
This Policy supplements the CIC Terms and Conditions.
2. Authorized Use#
Users may access the Platform only for lawful purposes and only according to their authorized access level.
Permitted uses may include:
- organizing case materials;
- managing evidence;
- reviewing documentation;
- preparing litigation-related information;
- collaborating with authorized users;
- using Platform workflows;
- providing feedback.
3. User Account Responsibilities#
Users are responsible for:
- maintaining account security;
- protecting login credentials;
- ensuring account information is accurate;
- reviewing access permissions;
- preventing unauthorized account use.
Users must not:
- share accounts;
- provide credentials to unauthorized persons;
- allow others to use their account without authorization.
4. Case Access and Authorization#
Users may only access information for cases where they have appropriate authorization.
Users must not:
- access cases they are not assigned to;
- attempt to bypass permissions;
- obtain information outside their authorized role;
- share case materials with unauthorized individuals.
5. Evidence and Information Responsibilities#
Users are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority to upload information.
Users must not upload:
- information they are not authorized to possess;
- intentionally misleading materials;
- unlawful content;
- malicious files;
- information intended to compromise another person’s privacy.
CIC does not independently verify ownership or authority for every uploaded item.
6. Prohibited Activities#
Users may not:
Security Abuse#
- attempt unauthorized access;
- probe or test Platform security without authorization;
- bypass authentication;
- interfere with security controls;
- introduce malware.
System Abuse#
- overload Platform infrastructure;
- intentionally disrupt service;
- use automated tools to scrape or extract Platform data without authorization;
- interfere with other users.
Data Misuse#
- sell or distribute Platform-accessed information without authorization;
- disclose confidential case information improperly;
- misuse another user’s information.
AI Misuse#
Users may not:
- represent AI-generated information as verified fact without review;
- rely on AI outputs as automatic legal conclusions;
- use Platform outputs to misrepresent evidence;
- attempt to manipulate Platform outputs through malicious input.
7. Testing and Security Research#
Security testing, penetration testing, or attempts to identify vulnerabilities must be authorized by CIC.
Unauthorized testing may result in suspension or termination of access.
CIC encourages responsible reporting of security concerns.
8. Early Access and Tester Requirements#
Users participating in tester, beta, or early access programs agree to:
- provide honest feedback;
- report significant issues;
- protect non-public Platform information;
- avoid sharing confidential unreleased features.
9. Enforcement#
CIC may take action when misuse occurs, including:
- warnings;
- access restrictions;
- suspension;
- termination;
- removal of unauthorized content.
Actions may depend on:
- severity;
- security impact;
- repeated behavior;
- risk to users.
10. Reporting Violations#
Users may report:
- security concerns;
- misuse;
- unauthorized access;
- Platform abuse.
Reports should include enough information for CIC to investigate.
11. No Waiver#
Failure to immediately enforce this Policy does not waive CIC’s right to enforce it later.
